2014 All Stars Tryouts & Selection Process
T-Ball and Machine Pitch (6U, 7U, 8U)
The JBBA all-star season provides a “post season” experience at a higher level of competition for those qualified and selected through an objective process. This experience is an earned one that encompasses not just advanced skills for the age group, but a well-rounded ability to play the game.
Additionally, participants must have character that exhibits sportsmanship during games and parallels the opportunity of representing our league in other communities.
Tryouts: All kids that are participants in the league may come to All Star tryouts on Monday, April 28 at the time designated below. JBBA intends to field at least one team in the T-Ball division (6U), two teams in the Machine Pitch age group 7U, and one team in the Machine Pitch age group 8U. The JBBA board of directors will decide on the number of teams in each age group if there are enough kids willing to participate and that are selected through the objective manager selection process.
Tryouts will consist of certain drills that enable the voting managers to evaluate a player’s basic skills including hitting, fielding, throwing, catching and running.
The selection process will be objective and will involve a coach from all active teams within the T-Ball (6U) and Machine Pitch (7U & 8U) divisions. At least one JBBA board member will be present during the voting process.
All players selected to a team will be notified by the end of the day on Saturday, May 3rd.
T-Ball (6U) Tryout Time: 6:00pm
Machine Pitch (7U) Tryout Time: 6:00pm
Machine Pitch (8U) Tryout Time: 7:00pm
Commitment: If your child is selected to participate on an All Star team, you must provide both a financial and a time commitment in order to claim a roster position. The financial commitment will cover uniforms and tournament related costs and is expected to be in the range of $150 – $200. You must also commit to attending at least 90% of all tournaments and practices scheduled. The All Star season is expected to conclude by June 30th for the 8U team and on or before July 15 for the 6U and 7U teams.
Advanced Ball: Our Sunday Advanced (AB) Ball program will be ending this Sunday, April 26th. AB ball is not part of the All Star program and participation in the AB program does not guarantee players will be selected to participate in the All Star season. AB is a voluntary program and participation in AB ball is not a requirement for participation in the JBBA All Star program.
